This 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III is powered by a 2.9L inline-6 gasoline engine with 6 cylinders, delivering power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. This 3000 Mk III is now offered with a Body Production Windscreen Card, manufacturer’s literature, refurbishment and service records.
The car, originally Healey Blue, was repainted white during a body-off refurbishment from 2008 to 2011, featuring a replaced blue folding soft top, a hood scoop, driving lights, dual side mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, chrome bumpers with overriders, and bright trim. A matching top boot and tonneau cover are included.
Chrome-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 185/65 Kumho Solus HP4 tires, with a matching spare in the trunk. Braking is provided by front discs and rear drums, with a brake-light pressure switch replaced and brakes bled in February 2024.
The four-seat cabin features blue leather upholstery, replaced blue carpeting, front lap belts, a wood dashboard, a locking glovebox, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a cabin heater, a center armrest, and black rubber floor mats. The high-beam headlight switch was replaced in February 2024.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation, including a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination gauge for oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 58,000 miles, with approximately 250 miles added under current ownership.
The 2.9L inline-6 engine, rated at 150 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque with dual SU HD8 carburetors, was rebuilt during the refurbishment, along with the radiator, and fitted with a high-torque starter, cloth wiring harness, and stainless brake and fuel lines. The oil was changed in July 2024. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rebuilt four-speed manual transmission with Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive.
This Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III is in excellent condition, with a comprehensive refurbishment and recent maintenance, making it a refined classic roadster, backed by a Body Production Windscreen Card and extensive records.
